Are there any good papers to read on spirituality in Britain-Ireland-Europe?

I am looking for Sociology journal articles.There seems to be a split from my preliminary reading. Some people think spirituality is dead or dying, other commentators seem to suggest that it is simply altering(ie M or Church attendance don't reflect modern practice). I am especially interested in Ireland, which seems to be rejecting orthodox catholicism and open to alternatives
