My last normal period was in June ?

went to the doctor he told me that i was perimenopausal .didn't take no blood. any who I started my period yesterday and I'm bleeding really heavy and having a lot of clots hurting in my lower back also having bad cramps.i just turned 42 a few weeks back is there any chance i could of had a miscarriage.or is this part of menopause? haven't had a chance to see another doctor yet. but i am going soon
