Does the age difference matter?

Ok so im 14 born in july, hes 17 born in april.. I fell in love with him 3 years ago but only told him this half way through last year because i was afraid of what he would think , hes one of my brothers best mates but my brother doesnt seem to care that im in love with his best friend.. He pays for me to get on the bus when its raining so i dont have to walk home, he brought me lunch at school one day, he gives me hugs, he says cute things like "id save you if you were in trouble, ill be your superman" .. He waited till midnight to be the first person to wish me a happy birthday, he waits around school for me to get a hug, he puts x's and he knows the meaning of them :) , he thinks im cute and that it would be cute if we went out, he said i can sleep with him, he gave me his tshirt because i said i felt like he was so far away, he txts me until 3am, we use skype for up to 5 hours every night, he looks out for me at school, he gives me good advice about what to do when i have friend problems and a couple of weeks ago a boy tryed poking me at school, he tryed kissing me and i told him to back off and leave me alone now he started cutting himself over me because he said he was in love with me but i said I didnt feel the same way, im good friends with his (the guy i like) best friend who also goes to my school and hes trying to push us together, he said my age doesnt matter but he hasnt told me if he likes me but then again he hasnt told me if he doesnt like me.. What do you guys think? Im sick of waiting for him but i just cant stop, hes everything to me
