Why are film-media so narrow minded?

movies are hideously expensive to produce. they need backers, ie people with money to spare. the rich are notoriously reactionary. (if someone is rich and liberal you can be sure someone in his family is trying to have him declared non compos mentis. otherwise why would he be giving away his money? that is how the 'reasoning' goes.)
