Writers: Am I the only writer who...?

My last two years of high school English have both been disappointing. For whatever reason, my English teachers never seem to recognize me as anything more than the average student - both years, I consistently recieved marks similar to those of friends and peers who couldn`t care less about writing. It was frustrating. I don`t know if the teachers just disliked me personally, or were only focused on my ability to follow an outline and use good grammar (although, considering my job as a secretarial istant, I don`t really have problems with either). The ironic thing is that, in those two years, my teacher from Science cl pulled me aside to tell me I was a good writer, my Religion teacher called home to tell my Mom I should go into journalism, and my Civics teacher even approached me once, when handing back an essay, saying, ``You must get excellent marks in English.`` Nope...
